A premiere in Belgium, bringing together the expertise of Powerdale, Worldline and Bancontact/Mister Cash.
Brussels, November 12st, 2015 – Powerdale is delighted to announce the introduction of a QR Code pay solution, facilitating the payment of the charging process for electric vehicles. This innovative payment method is based on Worldline’s cross-channel payment solution WL Sips and the Bancontact app.
No need of bankcard to access the recharging infrastructures, a smart phone and the Bancontact app are enough to start the process and manage the payment. Until recently, charging point operators made drivers use their proprietary cards to operate the charger. This time is now over. Powerdale’s communicating charging stations are now equipped with a high-resolution screen allowing to present a QR code to the driver. Once scanned the charging and billing process start.
The new solution offers the following advantages:
- secured, easy and direct payment by Worldline (from the QR code creation to the final transaction)
- supported by the major bank institutions in collaboration with Worldline
- supported by multiple kind of businesses : hotels, restaurant, shops, offices
- pricing definition by the owner of the charging station
- no subscription required
- no additional infrastructure required
This new process will help infrastructure owners to improve the return on investment of their charging stations. It will also enable them to offer a differentiated service to their customers and employees.
says Olivier Piraux, CEO of Powerdale
Having our WL Sips cross-channel payment solution integrated in innovative and sustainable solutions is really important to us. “It shows how Worldline builds user-friendly solutions that can easily be integrated in products of different kinds of partners.
